Coach Carmen Spina is a seasoned leader in youth and high school athletics, with 18 years of experience as Head Coach at Rutherford High School. Recognized as the 2012 Bergen County Coach of the Year, he has achieved remarkable success, including guiding the lowest-seeded team in county history to the Bergen Final Four. Boasting 300 career wins, Coach Spina has earned the NJIC Coach of the Year title seven times and led his teams to four sectional finals appearances. He has mentored countless athletes who have advanced to collegiate programs at all levels and even been selected in the MLB Draft. Specializing in comprehensive training across all facets of the game, Coach Spina is dedicated to developing young players from youth leagues through high school, fostering skills, confidence, and a passion for excellence.

Courtney is a dedicated coach and educator with a lifelong passion for softball. A three-year starter at Bloomfield High School, she excelled as both a pitcher and second baseman for Top Gun Fastpitch.

Courtney continued her athletic career at Montclair State University, where she pitched for the collegiate team and earned recognition as an NJAC Academic All-Conference Honorable Mention and NFCA Scholar Athlete. Throughout her college career, she achieved Dean’s List honors for four consecutive years, earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education.

Now an Elementary School Teacher, Courtney brings over six years of fast-pitch pitching coaching experience to her athletes. Her coaching style emphasizes strong fundamentals, confidence, and love for the game—helping young players reach their full potential both on and off the field.

Coach Raul Ortega was born and raised in Nutley, New Jersey. The love and devotion he has for the game is shown through his work. Ortega was a switch hitting catcher who played 4 years of varsity baseball at Saint Joseph Regional High School, played a high level of D1 college baseball, and has experience at the independent professional level, Ortega strives to make every player he comes across better than they ever were. Raul has dedicated numerous volunteer hours with youth softball and baseball organizations to develop the next generation. Coach Ortega's commitment to his players extends beyond the field, as he seeks to instill values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance in every athlete he mentors. Through his guidance and support, he aims to empower players to reach their full potential and achieve success both on and off the field.
